Russia Develops 80’s Sitcoms
Apparently, our shows of yesterday are finding audiences in the Russia of today. The idea is to take the premise of shows such as Perfect Strangers, Suddenly Susan, and Step by Step, but to reshoot with new actors.
From CNN:
…the first episode of the Russian version of “Perfect Strangers” debuted a week ago on Ren TV. Mismatched roommates Larry and Balki have become Ivan (Artem Semakin) and Andrei (Anton Eldarov). Andrei arrives from his remote ex-Soviet republic and moves straight into the flat of his Moscow cousin, Ivan, where cultures clash between the two dissimilar characters.
I’m not sure how good these shows were in the first place, much less putting in the energy to recreate it all.
Yeah right, I watched them all. :) Thanks, Jack, for the tip!

You’re welcome. I definitly wouldn’t watch Perfect Strangers again. Don’t know why they don’t do the classics like Family Ties, Mr. Belvedere, and Night Court.

Okay, don’t think I could sit through Mr. Belvedere again, but definitely Night Court!!!!
