Jack: And now you know even more. ;)

Doug: I love "Friday I'm in Love," and so does your niece! :) And thanks for the Morrissey lesson. ;)

Morrissey was "this close" to winning a Grammy in '92. He was beat out by a ridiculous group and his arch enemy know as "The Cure". They won the Grammy that year with "Friday I'm In Love"

"So Why Do You Smile when you think about Earles Court, but you cry when you think of all the battle's you've fought and lost? Oh! It may all end tomorrow or it could go on forever, in which case I'm doomed. Oh! It could go on forever in which case I'm doomed. No dad, no dad, no dad..no,I won't be home Tomorrow. No dad, no dad, no dad...I won't be home Tomorrow. No dad, no da.....
 Morrissey -- Piccadilly Palare.
I won't say what that song's about!

You are depressed but you're remarkably dressed, is it real?" "and you're always busy, really busy, busy busy, "Hairdresser on Fire, all around Sloane Square"...............

Morrissey and his old band The Smiths were most popular in the 80's and through the early 90's. Their biggest following came from the hippie and alternative kids of the day and they were played on College Radio and Alternative stations. I remember the hair style for female followers of Morrissey was the "Bob" haircut and for some reason it looked really good. So if you were a part of any of those crowds you would definitely have heard of the man. In fact Morrissey still has a very ardent following and is still recording and performing and is actually currently touring the world. I also know a fair amount about Eurovision and I do know that Morrissey was asked to perform (check out Morrissey-solo.com). To compare it to American Idol is pretty far off. As far as I can remember Eurovision has been around since the 1950's or 60's and is meant as a showcase for various talent among European countries. In fact, Eurovision is extremely popular in Europe and is actually credible (unlike Idol). Eurovision's most popular performer and winner was a little know group from the 70's called ..... are you ready?..... ABBA! So now you know. : )
