Grease Auditions on Reality TV
Okay, so the original film Grease was released in 1978, but we all watched it through the 80’s, right? And, if nothing else, Grease 2 was released in 1982.
So, why do you care about Grease today? Well, there’s apparently a reality TV show in the works that will leave you singing along to your favorite Grease tunes, again…
From TV Blend’s Kelly West:
Fans of the movie and Broadway play Grease will be pleased to learn that BBC Worldwide Productions is putting together a reality show which will allow Broadway hopefuls to audition for the roles of Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski in a revival production of the play. America will vote to decide which two aspiring Broadway performers will be cast in the hit musical.
The new show will be titled ‘You’re The One That We Want’ and will air mid-season on NBC.
I don’t expect John Travolta or Olivia Newton-John to show up for auditions, but wouldn’t that be entertaining? ;)

That actually sounds kinda scary to me. Are we gonna have to sit through american idol type auditions of people butchering “Hopelessly Devoted”?

Only if it’s good for ratings. ;)
