Chicago Bears and the Super Bowl Shuffle
Bald Man was flipping throught the channels tonight, and kept going back to the Bears/Seahawks game. As a kid who grew up in Illinois in the 1980’s, I really can’t see or hear anything about the Chicago Bears without thinking of the Super Bowl Shuffle.
Crazy little song and video, wasn’t it? And even more strange to be reminded that it was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rhythym and Blues Vocal Performance.
I also have to think of Walter Payton, and of the tears in my Dad’s eyes when Payton retired. I didn’t often see my Dad cry, and he claimed to be eating “onion sandwiches”, but I’ll never forget that, either.
Da Bears, they’ve provided me with some pretty good memories.

I think I know all the words, until I hear it and go, “Oh wait, that’s not what I’ve been singing!” BTW-Are you TRYING to jinx them? ;)

Also, The Jennifer Jennings Band recorded a 2006 Chicago Bears tribute song called “Rock On Chicago Bears” which you can download for free at:

You can also see a video slideshow of the players synced up with the lyrics of the song and a video of the band performing the song on a Chicago morning TV news show.
