“A total geek magnet”
Being a total geek magnet was a bit of a disappointment, that is until I met the geek who is now my husband.
In the 80s however, being a geek magnet was definitely a scourge. It was frequently employed as a plot device in the movies, especially the ones starring members of the Brat Pack (depending on your source, the list of actors on the Brat Pack roster will vary), with Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink being the most notable, in my estimation, of the “chick attracting total nerds”. I watched most of the Brat Pack movies when they first came out, (and I must confess that I still re-watch some of them). Wikipedia’s entry notes popular films in which members of the Brat Pack appeared:
