The B5Media network:

Another David!

Today’s focus is on David Bowie. I do not recall when I first experienced the music of David Bowie, but I remember the first movie I saw in which he had an acting role – Labyrinth. The Goblin King. A very Hotty Goblin King. The sort of Goblin King that makes teenage girls wish they needed to descend into the Underworld on a rescue mission.

Labyrinth (Superbit Collection)

During the 80s, as cassette tapes became the preferred music format, some stores had big boxes of vinyl records sitting about here & there, full of random albums. Some great stuff, and a lot of obscure crap. I found an album by Bowie titled “Rare” (1983) in one of those boxes of records, and bought it for about $3.

You can read all about this album on the David Bowie Fan Site Teenage Wildlife. David Bowie has an official fanclub site as well, BowieNet. The IMDB lists 75 entries for Bowie as a filmography composer, 14 of them from the 80s.
