Back to 1982 With the Easter Bunny

Back to 1982 With the Easter Bunny

So this is me in 1982 during Easter. There was a bit of an evil glint in my eyes. I was a mischevious little thing, and … well, that hasn’t changed. The bunny died soon after the picture was taken. I (allegedly) bit him until he exploded. I guess I was practicing my vampire moves.

The Goonies

The Goonies

The Goonies is still for me one of the best movies of the 80’s and as a kid I must have watched it 20 times on VHS. For me its up there is the top 3 (I’ve already posted about War Games, and the other movie is yet to come).
Pirate ships, Cyndi Laupher songs, what more could an 80’s kid want.
According to Wikipedia:
“It was an escapist film for children and teenagers about a band of misfit kids from a section of Astoria, Oregon called the “Goon Docks”. The “Goonies”, hoping to save the Goon Docks from demolition, go on …read more

OK, I had a lot more hair then, atleast in 86.

But these shots are really scary. To the left, the prodigal son, to the right…..

Back To The 80s With Me And My Tomato

This is the only 80s pic I could find, as most of my photos are 3,000 miles away.
Here I am around ’81 (Ingrid was just a baby then! That means I’m the boss of her!) apparently quite proud of the tomato I’d just picked in my grandma’s garden.
Note the terry cloth shorts…so very 80s!

Drag Queens Party 80s Style with Madonna

Drag Queens Party 80s Style with Madonna

Oh, my God, I haven’t laughed this hard in a while! While perusing the video clip collection at download.com, I came across the most hysterical video: “Spanish Madonna Drag Queen”. They’ve taken Madonna’s new song, “Hang Up”, remixed it with Spanish lyrics (that I’m still trying to understand), dressed up 80s-style, and …
Well, just watch the video. Click the drag queen to be magically transported to the land of hilarity…

Back to 1981 … With My First Bikini

Back to 1981 … With My First Bikini

Just so you don’t think I’m only asking you to post embarrassing pictures of yourself for all to see, I’ll happily embarrass myself as well. We’ll start with this picture.
The year was 1981 …. and I was one. Actually, it could’ve been 1982 … or 83 …. I don’t remember. I’m really bad at guessing kids’ ages – even when they’re me. I’ll have to ask my parents. The place was San Juan, Puerto Rico. As that’s where I spent all of the 80s.
I think this is when my hatred of pink began…

Congratulations go to Outlander, who guessed the Mysterious Scrambled 80s Star on Clue #2. Good job! There were some interesting guesses. Jay Leno was even brought up. Haha!
