Northern State University Has 80s Week!

This week is 80s Week at NSU, where students are having a grand old time. Today is “Saved By the Bell Night” – and I’m jealous!! What a great idea. My university never had anything this cool. I just went crashing at Princeton parties cause they had neat stuff like Rocky Horror themed parties (FUN!) Still can’t find my handcuffs, though…

But I digress.

Director of Student Activities Travis Sieber said about 12 people dressed up in 1980s fashions for the contest. Each person that participated was given an assortment of prizes, ranging from Rubik’s Cubes to Fun Dip candy.

“It’s something to do that’s a little different for the students,” Sieber said.

Wednesday’s event was part of ’80s Week, which is being put on by NSU’s Campus Activities Board.

The fun continues today with “Saved By the Bell Night” at 8 p.m. in Thunder’s Lair at the NSU Student Center.

The Throwing Toasters Comedy Show is Friday at 7 p.m. in Thunder’s Lair with an ’80s Movies Double Feature immediately following, featuring “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and “Sixteen Candles.”

The week concludes with an ’80s dance at Thunders Lair at 9 p.m. Saturday.

Lucky… lucky ….
